Bayers Lake Business Park has witnessed spectacular growth since its development in the mid-1980’s in part because it offers high quality infrastructure combined with comprehensive development standards.
Its location, at the junction of Highways 102 and 103; its immediate proximity to Halifax’s highest residential growth area of Mainland North; and its proximity to the Halifax Central Business District and Port facilities also have contributed to the success of the Bayers Lake Business Park. With over 240 companies, Bayers Lake is the second largest occupancy business park in the HRM, after the Burnside Business Park.
The park has two broadly defined functional areas:
A large node of retail development served by the northeast section of Chain Lake Drive; and a general business park area, with major warehousing, trucking, distribution, light industrial/ commercial and office use, served by southeast and southwest sections of Chain Lake Drive
Bayers Lake Business Park has become one of the major concentrations of retail activity in Atlantic Canada. In particular, “Big Box” retail stores have recognized the value of Bayers Lake Power Center’s strategic location. Current “Big Box” tenants include Costco, Walmart, Kent Building Supplies, Home Depot, Staples (Business Depot), Chapters and Future Shop. The area also holds a 17-screen Empire/ IMAX Theatre and numerous national restaurant chains as a complement to the retail businesses.
Bayers Lake has become a truly regional destination, routinely attracting customers from a wide radius, who travel the area for a day of shopping, to enjoy dining out, followed by an evening of entertainment before heading home.
